Buyer's Guide

What to know before you buy

AI Glasses vs. AR Display Glasses

AI glasses (Ray-Ban Meta) look like normal eyewear and add voice, camera, and AI features. AR display glasses (Xreal, RayNeo) project a virtual screen into your view. Two very different use cases — know which you need before spending.

Camera Quality Expectations

Only AI-style glasses include a camera. The Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2's 12MP is the best available — solid for social content and POV capture, but not a replacement for your phone's camera system.

Real Battery Life

Expect 2–4 hours of active use across the board. Models with a charging case effectively double or triple total usage. Heavy AI activity or continuous video drains significantly faster than audio-only use.

Phone Compatibility Check

AR display glasses require a device with USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode output. Most recent Android flagships support this; iPhones require an adapter. Always verify your specific model before purchasing Xreal or Rokid devices.
